The Vancouver Pacific Swim Club is a parent participation club and all families joining the club are required to participate in the Volunteer Credit Program, as outlined in the Registration Package and Parent Handbook.
For the 2019/20 season, the volunteer credit program requirement is as follows:
Development Bronze / Silver / Gold and Junior/ Senior Skills - 30 points
Senior Regional / Junior Regional / Youth Regional/ Youth Provincial - 50 points
High Performance / Senior National / Senior Provincial / Junior Provincial -100 points
In addition to the points requirements, High Performance, Senior National, Senior Provincial and Junior Provincial group members must volunteer a minimum of six sessions at VPSC hosted meets, including a minimum of three at the Mel Zajac International Swim Meet.
Every point earned by volunteering and other activities equals 10 dollars credited back to the maximum fee paid. If you have multiple swimmers, you are required to earn the points of the group of the highest qualified swimmer.
Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you have any questions about the Volunteer Credit program or your points total. You can track your own points on the website throughout the season. Please Note: There are double-point penalties if you do not complete a volunteer session you have signed up for, or withdraw after the deadline. This may be waived at the discretion of the Director of Swimming or Volunteer Coordinator.
The volunteer roles available throughout the year in the club, along with the number of points earned with each role, can be found on the following two links:
Other volunteer opportunities will be available throughout the year, at the discretion of the Director of Swimming. Sign-up opportunities are communicated on the website and via club emails. Sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis.
