Who: Assessment for athletes looking to get assessed for our pre-competitive VPSC Swim School Program
UPCOMING SESSION: SUMMER SESSION 2026 (ages are as of December 31, 2026)
Requirements/Prerequisites: *swimmers must be able to fulfill before attending the assessment*
- **Selection into these groups are at the discretion of the Minis & Swim School Program Director.**
- Assessment is required.
- Swim School 1 (SS1): ages 5-6 years as of date *(see below)
- Swimmers must be able to:
- Swim 25m of the pool unassisted safely
- Swim unassisted in deep water safely
- Flutter kick on their stomach (with a kickboard) & on their back
- Be comfortable jumping in the water unassisted
- Swim School 2 (SS2): ages 5-7 years as of date *(see below)
- Swimmers must be able to:
- swim 2 x 25m of the pool unassisted safely
- swim 25m of freestyle
- swim 25m of backstroke
- attempt 10m of dolphin kick
- attempt 10m of breaststroke kick
- attempt a sitting dive or knee dive
*2025-26 Season Age Brackets:
- Fall-Winter Session 2025/26:
- SS1: 5-6 years as of December 31, 2025
- SS2: 5-7 years as of December 31, 2025
- Spring Session 2026:
- SS1: 5-6 years as of June 30, 2026
- SS2: 5-7 years as of June 30, 2026
- Summer Session(s) 2026:
- SS1: 5-6 years as of December 31, 2026
- SS2: 5-7 years as of December 31, 2026
